The song ‘Free Satpal Ram’ by Asian Dub Foundation (1997) was released in protest of the unfair jailing and further treatment of Satpal Ram, whose conviction is controversial due to mistreatment on racial grounds.

This pamphlet was made in response to the song. With song lyrics like ‘Whose word against who,’ ‘Self defense is no offense’ and ‘Free Sapal Ram’ printed in bold, this pamphlet aims to ask the questions the song highlights. The use of different weights, sizes and opacities of the same font helps bring forth some of the song’s most impactful lyrics. Screen-printed on sugar paper, the pamphlet references the design of the original song cover.
